Scene: A Father Losing Everything
It was a warm day in Dayton Ohio and a black Prius pulled into the VA medical center that was on the west side of town. As the woman who was driving the car showed ID and was allowed into the parking lot, she looked down at her phone. She just took a heavy sigh and pulled into a spot close to the front of the VA building. The woman turned off the car and turned off her cell phone.
“I don’t get people in this life. Using social media to act like kids…damn.”
The woman gets out of the car and closes the door. She looked up to the sky to see storm clouds rolling in and she just sighed. The woman made her way into the building and up to the front desk. The nurse greeted her and the woman smiled.
“How is my father doing?”
“Well Miss Hawkes, he is better than what he was last night. The night terrors came back and he woke up screaming again.”
The woman the nurse was referring to was Marisol Hawkes and the ‘he’ that the nurse was referring to was Marisol’s father who served three tours with the Air Force in Iraq. Marisol sighed as the nurse took her to her father’s room. Marisol smiled meekly as she walked into the room with the nurse and saw her father.
“Hi daddy…”
The man looked up from the bed and saw Marisol standing in front of him. The man smiled and Marisol made her way over to the chair that was right next to his bed. Marisol sat down and the man held out his hand. Marisol took her father’s hand and smiled at him. The nurse wrote a few things down on the charts for her father and then left.
“How is my baby girl?”
“Your baby girl is doing just fine dad. It is you I am worried about. The night terrors keep getting worse don’t they?”
Marisol’s father just looked down at the blanket that was covering him up. Marisol knew that he was going to start thinking again and she had to quickly find another topic to talk about. Marisol gently patted her father’s hand and he looked back up at her.
“I am getting back into wrestling dad. I got a job offer at Pro Wrestling X and Second City Wrestling. I took both jobs…the band thing just isn’t working for me like I wanted it to. I have a major Second City Wrestling match that is coming up…”
Marisol’s father smiled and fixed his blanket a bit. Marisol knew that something was just off about him and she continued to hold his hand.
“I am glad you are doing what you like to do. I missed seeing you on television with PWX. I mean after your divorce…I wouldn’t blame you for leaving wrestling for a bit….”
Marisol chuckled a bit and she fixed her shirt in the front. Marisol then looked up at the nurse who came in and wrote something down on the chart that was in front of her father’s bed. The nurse then looked over to Marisol and smiled.
“Your father will be going home in about a month miss. We want to make sure his PTSD is handled properly before releasing him.”
Marisol rubbed the back of her neck with a nervous look upon her face. The nurse looked over at her with a concerned look on her face and Marisol noticed this. Marisol smiled and looked back over at her father.
“Is there any way that I can get help with having a caretaker over at the house. My mom works twelve hours a day and my job takes me all over the country and world.”
“My daughter is a professional wrestler. She is going to become world champion one day.”
Marisol smiled at her father and then looked over at the nurse who had a smile on her face. The nurse handed her a pamphlet for the Area Agency on Aging. Marisol started to look over the pamphlet and the nurse pointed out something on the pamphlet.
“If you mention that your father is a veteran, hospice may come out to your home to do an evaluation and see what they can do miss.”
Marisol smiled and tucked the brochure into her purse. The nurse walked out of the room and looked over at her father. Marisol’s father had a big smile on his face and Marisol just chuckled at him.
“What is the laugh about for pretty lady?”
“That was the same big grin you gave me when I was seven years old. I remember you bought me a brand new bike and you taught me how to ride it.”
The pair sat and talked about the good times that they had when she was growing up and how not a thing has changed since she became a grown woman. The pair talked for hours about things until her father grew tired. Marisol put the blanket over her father like he did when she was a little girl and she kissed his forehead.
“I will be back tomorrow afternoon to discuss things with you papa. I love you.”
“I love you my little Mari.”
Marisol wiped a tear from her face as she walked out of the room and towards her car. She smiled and then felt her phone vibrate. Marisol got into her car and on her cell phone as she started it up. Marisol laughed at the person on the other end as she was pulling out of the parking lot.
Promo: Life’s Twists and Turns
Things in life don’t always go your way. You either have doubters, haters or those who just don’t believe in you. Some of those trademarks can be in the same person, but at least one of those hateful qualities are in each and every single person. I have the one of doubt. The others that are in this match this week with me have all of the qualities that I have mentioned. I am the only female in a match where one of four people get a shot for the Second City Wrestling world champion John Pariah at the first 2CW pay per view coming up. I look to be that person and let me run down the reasons why.
One, I am a hard worker. Not saying that my opponents don’t work hard, but I am not all over twitter running my mouth at my opponents and calling them skanks like children. Spencer…you know that last comment was aimed directly at you. It is one thing to talk about doing something to someone, but it is another thing to act upon what you speak.
Notice we haven’t heard anything from Timothy Hunt or that Ajax guy? That is because they know better than to speak out of line. Spencer I know doesn’t give a fuck about much, and that is apparent in his appearance. You have to ‘check ya self before ya wreck ya self’ Spencer. Or at least that is what I make sure to do before I go win titles and gain fame.
There is a reason why I think that people like Timothy and Spencer don’t deserve to win this match and that is simple. They are not worthy of this shot. Yeah they may have garnered wins against weaklings of the roster, but I am no weakling. I am someone who will bleed for what is fair. Now the means of getting the victory is something completely different and will be determined by fate in the match at hand, but guys like Timothy don’t deserve their shot after abusing women. Spencer doesn’t give a shot because he is an unlikeable and selfish ass and the company doesn’t deserve him as the face of the company.
You also have to be ready to represent the fans. We are now getting to a point in the company where more and more people are wanting to join us in 2CW and guys like Ajax and Spencer won’t be good faces to represent the company. They are not good faces to represent the company because they are in it for themselves. I am not in it for myself. I could care less about the money or the fame that comes with the title.
Though this isn’t about the title. It is about getting a shot a Pariah. I made a promise to my father before I left to start my wrestling career back up. That was to become a world champion for him. So this is my next step. This is the step that determines who is the better of the four of us, and who are chumps. Let me state the last three words that you all will understand now, then, and forever.
Divinity. Never. Dies.
