[The ubiquitous 2CW backdrop fills the screen with those Chicago stars, and who has backstage broadcaster Kendra Miller got on the microphone but our own Chicago star herself, Miss Jacqueline Hyde!]
Kendra: "Jacqueline, it's good to get a word with you."
Jackie: "Heeeey, good to be here myself. I remember back when I just started, slinging T-shirts and popsicles at the merch stands in the back of the arena, hell I was like fourteen when I started out workin' these little shows with my pops."
Kendra: "So glad to see you back, too."
Jackie: "Now I figure it's just this awesome feeling - I'm still out here slinging 8x10 glossies and those headbands with the little purple doodly-boppers on springs, you know they're so popular with the little girls who come to the shows - and some of the adult male fans too, I don't judge - but now it's MY picture on those T-shirts! It's MY pocket I finally get to fill with all this awesome popsicle cash!
Ooooh, this is gonna be fun. We got that girl Kyra McKnight up against me, we're gonna fight it out put on a show, maybe flash a little leg to get the boys in the bleachers all worked up.
And then you know what? I'mma be all hot and sweaty from my match, so I'm gonna need to cool down with one o' them Purple Power freezy-pops that I'm selling back at the merch stand, and I'm gonna sell a whole bunch more to those fans who are just as hot and sweaty as I am 'cause I know it's crowded up there in the bleachers. And I'm gonna gather up my popsicle dollars, go get you and me and Kyra together, and we are going to go out DRINKING!"
Kendra: "You heard it, boys. Come visit the concessions stand and the merchandise tables, you'll be donating to the 2CW Girl's Night Out fund. WOOOOOOOO!"
[Exeunt.]

We open backstage, to a shot of a prearranged interview set, 2CW and SEVENTH CIRCLE posters all over the place, a giant 2CW star in the middle of the set. Standing on one side of the star is 2CW's favorite backstage reporter, Kendra Miller; on the other, a fresh-face, someone 2CW hasn't seen to date. The two women seem content to have a chat while they wait for everything to get set up, but fairly quickly, the cameraman lets them know it's time to start the interview, and both women straighten up a little bit, the newcomer tucking her hands into her hoodie pockets.
"Ladies and gentlemen, my guest makes her Second City Wrestling debut this weekend at Seventh Circle, ahead of her participation in the World Grand Prix later this month...please help me welcome to Second City Wrestling, Kyra McKnight!"
Kyra looks to the camera with a BIG grin on her face, flashing the horns with both hands and playfully sticking her tongue out for a second, before descending into a little bit of laughter.
"Thanks, Kendra. It's great to finally be able to be in front of everybody."
"Well, welcome! And 2CW's not letting you start easy, at Seventh Circle, you've got a match against another newcomer to Second City Wrestling, a Chicago girl herself, Jacqueline Hyde; I'm curious how you feel ahead of the match, knowing you're headed into...I guess hostile territory."
Kyra actually had to stop and think for a second--a bit of a tough first question blindsided her. SHe clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth once or twice, eventually shaking her head, turning to look to Kendra.
"Honestly...I think it's great..."
"I'm sorry...?"
"Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those people that would say whatever they have to just for a little attention; I don't, like...revel in people hating me, I don't want everyone to think I'm just trying to get them all riled up or anything...but let's be honest about it: a debut match...in my opponent's hometown? At the risk of a little bit of wrestling cliche here...there's not a lot of better ways to make an impact than to take down the home town girl.”
"On top of debuting against a Second City Citizen, you’re also making your debut on a pay-per-view, ahead of the World Grand Prix; that has to add some pressure to the match...how are you dealing with the days leading up to Seventh Circle?"
"Honestly...I don't think there's any pressure on Jackie and I; we're two new girls in a company of really talented wrestlers, and I think we've got a perfect chance to get out there and show what we can do. You could look for pressure in that we're new, trying to make a splash on a major show, but...to be honest, we're both new here; we're both looking to make an impression before the Grand Prix gets started, and the Powers That Be gave us a chance to face each other. I think it's a great opportunity to get a little experience in Second City Wrestling."
"Looking ahead, to the World Grand Prix, though...some of 2CW's best, along with some of the best wrestlers from outside the company as well, are signed to take part in it... I don't mean this to sound rude or anything, but it seems like a tall order for someone just starting out in this company..."
Kyra couldn't hide the smirk that thought brings up. She tried, but her lips curled into a sly little smile. She shrugged a shoulder upward, shifting in place just a little bit, clicking her tongue again before answering.
"The thing about the World Grand Prix...the thing about being in a tournament with 14 or 15 wrestlers more experienced than me, who've been here longer than me, whatever measurement you wanna use to judge them...the thing about it, for me, is I get a chance to test myself. I love wrestling for a million different reasons, Kendra, but one of the major ones...one of the ones that brought me here, to 2CW, was the level of the competition. I know some people are content to walk through the curtain, wrestle a fairly easy match in front of 14 fans in a high school gym, and if that's what makes you happy, great! More power to you...
"Me, personally? I WANT to test myself against the best. I WANT to be in the ring with some of the best wrestlers in the country, I WANT to be challenged every single time I'm in the ring; if I'm not, then I'm wasting my time, honestly; if I'm wrestling easy matches that I can go through on cruise control, if I'm wrestling matches that there's no challenge...then what's the point? I love the competition, Kendra...honestly, bring on anyone; bring on everyone! Bring on the 2CW Champ, bring on the Grand Prix's number one seed, bring them all on...
"You asked me a little earlier if I felt pressure going into this match with Jackie...I don't; I really don't, but I'm going to wrestle like I do. I'm going to wrestle like my career in 2CW depends on the result of this match; I'm going to fight like my job's on the line, like my debut is all that matters and they could throw me out on my ass if they aren't impressed. I didn't pack up and move from Boston to be mediocre, Kendra...I didn't leave my life behind to be another face in the crowd. My goal...at Seventh Circle is to make people go 'whoa...that Kyra chick can fight.'
"Jackie, I want you to know going into this match...I've got all the respect in the world for you, and I think it's going to be a lot of fun, giving your friends and family a show at Seventh Circle...but I didn't come here to lose; I didn't come here to play second fiddle, debut or otherwise, Jackie...I came here to see how I measured up to the absolute best. Seventh Circle is my first chance to prove I belong...and I won't let it slip through my fingers."
Kyra flashes one set of horns to the camera again, smiling brightly for just a moment before turning on her heel, slipping out of camera shot, leaving Kendra behind to close out the interview.
"Well, ladies and gentlemen, you definitely won't want to miss Seventh Circle this weekend; Adam Stryker defends the 2CW Championship in a Seventh Circle elimination match, Anton Chase defends the Heritage Championship in a Ladder War against Jason Richards, and the first Second City Wrestling Tag Team Champions will be crowned when the Hipster Wrecking Crew take on JP Caliban and Jordan Cisnero! For Second City Wrestling, I'm Kendra Miller, we'll see you Saturday night!"
With the interview closed out, Kendra flashes a smile to the camera, and the scene fades to black.
