A photo of Declan Black, holding the 2CW Championship above his head is on the wall as the camera fades from black. A chuckle is heard off camera-but the camera remains focused on the image.
“Declan Black and I have crossed paths once before-and Declan came up the victor after a piledriver onto a steel chair. He woke up the demon, and his friend paid the price for it.”
The angle widens, and we see Grayson Shaw walk into frame, with the ICONIC Championship over his shoulder.
“It seems a lot of people have paid for the sins of a champion. Declan Black took that victory-tainted as anything. Wayne Williams is out of commission, Takeru Ibushi is out, AJ Fairchild, and John Pariah have all seen the End Times. Now, I get what I want. I get Declan Black, I get him in a steel cage, and I get the 2CW Championship on the line. Hah, it almost feels like a belated Fathers Day present-and I’m not even a Father.”
He chuckles, looking at the ICONIC Championship over his shoulder.
“I destroyed, the self proclaimed Savior of Wrestling, and now I’m coming for the King and his throne. Declan Black has been running around 2CW for months now-proclaiming himself to be the greatest talent ever in this company. He’s created a little club of people-a little club of champions called bulletSCARS-and to be honest, none of it means shit to me.”
He smirks, gazing into the camera.
“The only thing that matters to me Declan, is that 25 pound piece of gold and leather. Why? Because it means the world to you. It means money, it means power, it means glory. It means that you can take the world by storm-and control it, bend it to your will. That power-shouldn’t be yours to wield, it should be mine. Since I debuted here, I have been unstoppable, undeniable, and unbeatable. Declan Black-you want to underestimate me-that’s fine. John Pariah underestimated me-and where is he now. Wayne Williams and Takeru Ibushi under estimated me, and where are they now Declan? Where are any of them now? Where will Declan Black be when he underestimates me? After he’s been locked inside that cage with the Devil incarnate? Where will Declan Black be than? You see, this is a question you need to consider Mr. Black. John Pariah is a specter, a ghost, a relic-broken and destroyed, beaten and decimated. That’s where John Pariah is now. Do you want to right next to him, broken and bloodied and left for dead? My name is Grayson Shaw, I am the New ICON, I am the Devil Himself, and Declan Black-after Saturday, I will be the 2CW Champion, and you my friend, will kneel before Shaw….”
He smiles, and pats the ICONIC Championship as we fade to black

Grayson Shaw is simply a fool if he thinks he can take away my 2CW Heavyweight Championship. That's what all of our arguments boil down to. For one, I am the longest-reigning champion there's ever been. Longer than Ryan Kidd...even longer than Pariah. I'm one of only two men to make multiple successful title defenses, and with a win over Shaw, I can tie Pariah's defense record. It's hard to argue that I'm NOT the most decorated champion in 2CW history.
For two, I've already beaten Grayson Shaw. In almost the same environment as his big win over John Pariah, no less. I pinned him, clean as a whistle, by piledriving him onto a chair that HE brought in. But this isn't that environment. This isn't some No-DQ garbagefest. This is two men locked in a twenty foot steel cage, with nothing but their minds and their bodies to pull them to victory. And frankly, I'm not convinced that Grayson's capable of winning in that environment.
He excels when there's chaos. The two times he's been able to drop me, outside of a match, mind you, were sneak attacks from behind. And you can't sneak attack somebody in a cage. He was successful against John Pariah when he could use whatever he wanted, but that's not an option in the cage. It's simply about who the better wrestler is, and the whole world knows that that's me. I've proven it time and time again during my reign, that nobody is better in a 2CW ring than I am. I'm still nearly a year undefeated in singles competition.
So my question to Grayson would be, what's changed? How has he changed himself to have a better chance of beating me? Because frankly, if he brings the same Grayson Shaw that challenged me last time, I'm going to beat him again. When all the bullshit gets stripped away, what's there at his core? I can say, yeah, I'm that much more knowledgeable about his moveset, about how he moves, his ring presence, pacing, all that. I know Grayson better than I did the last time we faced off...and I beat him then.
Please, Grayson, give me a reason that you could possibly beat me. Tell me how you're going to rip me limb from limb. You might want to keep a dream journal for help, though, because that's the only place in which you'll be beating me-in your dreams. But hey, I'm waiting. Waiting for you to tell me how you're going to do what you couldn't last time. What Jack Owyns couldn't do before he got sand in his vagina and pussed out. What, you gonna somehow intimidate me? I sincerely doubt that. Because I know, that while you may indeed have skills and size...there's still just a little boy, in over his head, in that brain of yours. And that little boy has good reason to be scared.

*The camera starts out dark, with only the audio of Declan Black's voice being heard, faded in like waking from a nightmare.*
Grayyyyson...oh, Grayyyyson...
*Declan Black chuckles darkly, only his face and a bit of his shoulders in the frame of an extreme close up shot.*
It seems that, despite popular stereotypes, you're the one scared of me now. I mean, such a talkative motherfucker, reduced to silence by little old me? Who'd have thunk it, right? That guy, who stalked Lillith Morgan to get into John Pariah's head, beat him before he ever got into the ring, who has been built up as this big fuckin' scary monster...is neutered by the 2CW Heavyweight Champion. A guy who's big, but not the biggest. Strong, but not the strongest. Tough, but not the toughest. I'm many things, but by all conventional wisdom, I shouldn't be anything to fear.
*Declan grins broadly.*
But the thing is, Grayson, you're right to be scared.
Because nobody in 2CW has my skillset. I'm good enough at so many things that I'm a hard opponent to properly scout. Lately, I haven't even used my Blackout to win matches. I'm a different threat than anything else you've faced. A lot of people in 2CW are known for doing one thing better than anyone else, and that's how they succeed. But me? I'm not the best at anything, but I always have one or two advantages, at least, on my opponents.
My advantage here, most of all, is that I refuse to be intimidated by you. Yeah, you're big. There are a lot of big guys in wrestling. If that's the only advantage you're bringing, trust me, it won't be enough to make you the new 2CW Heavyweight Champion. You dismantled Pariah's mind and used your brute force to break what remained, and that's how you stole the ICONIC Championship. Going to be a whole hell of a lot harder to do that to me.
You are not a champion, Grayson, no matter how much you'd like to call yourself one. You stole an unofficial title belt. So, you're just as much the champion of anything as kids with the Burger King crowns are kings. But hey, call it champion vs. champion, call it title for title, call it the Rumble in your Tumble if that's what gets you going. Whatever you or anyone else calls it, it doesn't change facts. At #REdefine, when we face off in a steel cage, there's only going to be one real title in the ring. There's only going to be one real champion in the ring. That title is my title, and that champion is me.
There's no chance to run, Grayson, there's nowhere to hide, to sneak attack me from. You finally have to be a man and see if you can back up your bullshit in the ring. And frankly, I'm not convinced you can. You wanna be the man? Prove it. Beat me.
*The camera feed abruptly cuts.*

(The following blog was posted to DeclanBlack.com on June 25th, 2015.)
Grayson, time is very quickly running out for you. Your time to run, to hide, to tell yourself or anyone else how you plan to defeat me at #REdefine. How you plan to springboard from stealing an unofficial title to winning the richest prize in this company-in a match where there are no shortcuts. How a man who has always needed shortcuts is suddenly not going to need them against the longest reigning 2CW Heavyweight Champion there's ever been.
See, I'm very interested in this tale of intrigue, because frankly, I don't know myself how you're thinking you're going to manage that. Hell, when we met before, you had every shortcut you could want at your fingertips. You had access to anything. You had your match, no disqualification, a match that played to your strengths...and you LOST. And however you want to spin it, the fact is, that win was as clean, as un-tainted, as a win can get. I kicked a chair-a chair that you brought into the ring-back into your face, and I piledrove you on it. That simple.
Now, Grayson, you're in an environment where there are no rules to break. Where there's no chairs to grab when everything else fails. An environment where, to win, you have to be the better wrestler. And everybody knows that's me. I'm the better wrestler. So Grayson, I'm waiting with bated breath to hear just how you plan to beat a man who hasn't been beaten one on one in a year, and somebody who hasn't lost one on one ever in 2CW. But the thing is, that's all I'm going to do. I'm just going to wait.
Because there's no way your ass can beat me in that cage. I'm too good for you. Now, that's not to say you're not talented. To say that would be a disservice to you, but it would also be a disservice to all the people you've put down. Certainly, your record is impressive, and you haven't gotten there by accident. But the fact of the matter is, I'm on a different level than anyone you've faced before. Different physically, mentally, everything. And maybe you're just not good enough to stand and fight with me on my level. You're still young. You'll be there someday, Grayson, with some more in-ring experience and a whole lot of life experience.
But the fact is, you're not there now. And tonight, after the plane I'm typing this out on touches down, after I've made it to Chicago, and fulfilled all the responsibilities that come with being 2CW Heavyweight Champion, I'm going to fulfill my biggest responsibility as champion. I'm going head to the Excalibur and beat your goddamn head in, and retain my championship. I'm going to show you what it means to be a champion and what it means to fight one. And most of all?
I'm gonna prove...that you're still not there.
