Declan Black vs Nighthawk

As Nighthawk sits alone on a wooden bench in the back of the Wrestle Factory, his eyes cold and impassive, he slowly opens his eyes. Clad in a black Hiroshi Hase t-shirt, blue-and-white wrestling shorts, and black wrestling shoes, the “Wrestling Machine” looks at the camera coolly like an interloper.
Nighthawk: “Declan Black. You’ve probably heard of guys like me. We exist as apparitions, in memories and stories. I am the last of a breed slowly dying out. And this week, when I step in the ring with you, I will attack every weak spot you have. I will make your knees ache and your arms throb. I will torture you. And when it’s done, when I have finally made you submit, you’ll learn that for as good as you think you are, you’re not nearly ready for this level. I will tap you out. I will teach you a lesson.
Goodnight Declan. May sleep give you the courage to go on.”

(The following is a blog post from DeclanBlack.com, dated August 26th, 2015.)
I can't pretend I'm not happy to be facing Nighthawk. After two hard weeks without a win, a test of my skills on that level is just what the doctor ordered. There's not a wrestler on this roster with the technical expertise that Nighthawk has, and his grasp of little things, stuff like positioning, grip, stuff that so many people discount...with him, he's second to none at that. It's a true battle-two of the best wrestlers in the world today in the best independent company in North America. If you're a wrestling fan, not a sports-entertainment junkie, but a fan of pure wrestling excellence, well, trust me when I say that Nighthawk and I will be putting on a buffet for your senses.
I'm not REDEFINE World Heavyweight Champion, and I'm not in contention to be. It's going to be a long time before you see Declan Black near that title again. And with that said, after When Worlds Collide, I'm trying to find myself, trying to see where I fit in on this hierarchy. This match is going to go a long way in showing me, and showing everyone else, exactly where I belong on the depth chart, so to speak. What I'm going to be doing going forward. Should I be back in contention for the World Title? Is it time for me to lead the TV title division and pursue Andrew Wilkow? Perhaps me and my good buddy Wadjethotep should throw our hats in the Tag Team title race, erase the rampant twerpery in that division.
My future is here in REDEFINE, and there's nothing of greater value to me than the idea of REDEFINE-ing the sport of professional wrestling before some of the greatest fans the world has to offer. See, my old hero Bret Hart once said, and I agree, that he wasn't greedy for money. He was greedy for respect. Me, I've already got enough money for ten lifetimes. I don't need to sign for big dollars somewhere else. But what I need, what I crave in my bones, is respect, for me, and for what I do. And there isn't any better place to get it than right here.
Nighthawk, I respect the hell out of you. Not only your resume, not only your very impressive lineage, but your skills, too. Yeah, you're a second generation star, but we both know that wrestling stars can't be born-they must be made. And over the years, you've made yourself perhaps the most exemplary wrestler on the planet. But part of me's gotta know. Am I better? Can I be? So that's what I'm going to go about answering myself come Manhattan. I can't promise you, or the fans, anything...except for one hell of a wrestling match.
You'll ask me to sleep well, but I tell you to sleep better, because brother, you've got the match of your life on your hands.
