Post by Jacob Daniels on Nov 9, 2015 8:09:47 GMT
::The scene starts up as Jacob Daniels is in the Manchester airport, from the camera angle, we can see he's wearing a black hoodie with Beats headphones around his neck.::
"Unlike some of the other REDEFINE wrestlers, I chose to take a later flight home and enjoy the time I had left here in the UK. Now granted, I didn't spend as much time over here as the majority of the roster did, but I would say my time here was well spent. I was able to make my debut and won my first two matches here in REDEFINE. I was able to prove I was worth my signing here by defeating another fresh face to the company and I also made my stock rise by taking on and beating a former champion who is also a highly favored talent. But best and most important of all, I was able to do both without questioning or selling out my morals and ideals that I have set in myself. I was able to go out there, bring everything I had and win them with class, dignity, honor and respect."
::He takes a moment, almost like he is gathering his thoughts before continuing.::
"Those are the same things I plan to bring to the table at REDEFINE25 against Faolan Reid. I haven't been in this company long, that's a given, but I have payed attention to the goings on here and even payed attention to Faolan's career when he first came onto the American wrestling scene to join the Infinity brand of Pride Wrestling. So unlike some of the others I have taken on here in REDEFINE, I do have some insight from the start with Faolan. I know that he is great talent in his submission skills, that he is lighting fast and that he has a great head on his shoulders. He's definitely one that you need to be careful around because he's that talented."
"It's no mistake that he's also a former champion here in REDEFINE. He's had that success that I hope to reach here. He knows what It takes to get to the pinnacle spot and that's what makes him, with no disrespect to Jaxson or Abby, my toughest opponent so far in REDEFINE. Not only that but I have the highest respect for the man. That's why I am going to do my absolute damnedest to beat you Faolan. I'm going to go out there and push myself further than I have so far. I normally leave everything I can in that ring but with you Faolan... I'm going to dig down deep and hit you with that little something extra."
::Jacob looks around a bit off camera before looking back.::
"They just announced that I can board, so when you see me again, I'll be back in the states... Training on how to break you down Faolan, brick by brick... I wish you the best of luck man."

Faolan Reid steps out of the airplane. His bag was over his shoulder and his hair was a mess and his beard was somewhat trimmed. He walked through the airport down to baggage claim and grabbed his other bag. He turned on his heels and sat down. His eyes closed for a moment and he took a deep breath and began to speak.
Well, the tour of Great Britain didn't work out well for me. Everything I 'ave worked for went away on that trip. My title, and all of the wins that I 'ad worked on all gone. I thought going back 'ome would keep the legacy that I 'ad worked on 'ere in Redefine. But I lost it all, now I'm back in the states and I 'ope that it will change. I 'ope I will 'ave my 'and raised again.
He takes another deep breath and shakes his head.
Maybe it was being over there and thinking that I 'ad ta win every match that made me lose. Maybe it was because I was missing my lass, talking ta 'er on the phone wasn't the same. But as I sit 'ere back in the states I know that I 'ave ta get back ta where I was. It will not be easy.
Jacob Daniels is good, 'e went over ta Great Britain and 'e showed that 'e was good. 'E will be someone that will lead Redefine into the future, it is written in the starts and all of the cliche stuff. 'E knows 'e is good and well that is 'alf the battle. I know I'm good as well but I have ta get back to that. I have to start to win matches again and I know you are thinking that this is me calling my swan song and all of that but it is far from that this is just a rut I am in. I will work out of it.
'E 'as 'ad a 'ard life. His mum not thinking 'e could amount ta anything and that is why 'e works so 'ard. 'E wants to prove to people that this was the right choice for 'im. If you look at 'im he is imposing. 'E could probably snap some people in 'alf 'ere in Redefine with one finger. But I'm not that person I will stand toe ta toe with 'im and I will fight 'im. I know Jacob is thinking about this match as a stepping stone, by beating me 'e could put 'is name on top of the list for the TV Championship, but a win 'ere for me could get me back there. I wanted to do so much more in my match at Vendetta but I didn't. This is another shot against an upstart. Against someone that is really good, someone that people are talking about. I just need ta go in there and fight 'im.
He gets up and grabs his bag and leaves.

::The scene opens inside of a wrestling gym. Just off to the side of some mats, Jacob Daniels sits on a wooden bench with a towel over his head. His grey shirt sticks to his upper body from the sweat of his latest workout. As the camera closes in he lifts his head and hangs the towel over his shoulders.::
"Faolan, I'm not taking anything to chance when it comes to you. I chose to switch up my training a bit when it comes to you because I wasn't bullshitting you when I said you'll be my toughest test here in REDEFINE so far. You're a former champion with an impressive record that will be a definite make or break part of my career here. If I'm able to beat you, then the powers that be will know I am worthy of bigger matches and bigger opportunities. You said that I see this match as a stepping stone to bigger and better things and while that may ring true to a point, you sir are no stepping stone. You are a world class talent that can't be overlooked. Not only that but you have a type of dignity that others lack and is a dying but very great virtue to have."
"Where you called it a stepping stone match, I see it as my proving ground. Every match I have here, is a place to prove myself and to prove that a man can still win and make a difference with honor. That's why when I joined REDEFINE, I didn't need the pomp and circumstance of crashing a main event and demanding my place to be at the front of the line. That's why I didn't come out and use my past accomplishments in places that some people either don't remember or never heard of as a way to skip ahead in the line. I came here to prove that having humility, honor and some God damn self respect you can still make an impact. I think you know this to be true Faolan, you have been able to do that for sometime now."
"Only issue it would seem is that you have fallen into a rut of sorts. Hell man, you were rolling just before and after you won that Television Championship but after Mars got the better of you, the wheels fell off. Losing your title, getting pinned in that big main event and just last week being the second person eliminated from the Television Championship match, the match to get your title back. I just hope you can clear you mind of that Faolan and focus on our match. Because I'll tell you for sure that this match against you is all I am focused on."
::Jacob pulls the towel off his shoulders and takes a swipe at his face with it and then tosses it on the bench next to him. He then stands up and stretches before returning to his training on the mats.::

Jacob, lad I am focused on this match you don’t have to question that.
Faolan Reid smiles as he looks into the camera. His hair is slicked back and his beard is trimmed.
The rut I am in is something that I’m trying ta fix, something I ‘ope I can fix when I face you lad. You can run down what ‘as ‘appened ta me the last two shows the problem with that lad is I know what ‘as ‘append. I ‘ave been there I ‘ave lived it. It gets down ta my last nerve that I ‘aven’t been able ta win as of late. But it is fine, I will get back ta where I was before the loses started ta mount.
When you talk about ‘ow you ‘aven’t wanted ta be in the Main Event makes me applaud you lad. You get it unlike a lot of people around ‘ere you ‘ave ta work ‘ard ta get your chance at glory. I worked ‘ard ta get where I was when I first got into this company and ‘olding a title solidified that for me. I know deep down you want ta ‘old a title which is great, and like I said sooner or later you will get that shot. You will win that title and hell lad you will be one of the best in this company. Like I said I know you know that you ‘ave ta work ‘ard but lad be careful who you befriend in this business.
He shake his head he gets closer to the camera.
Don’t get me wrong lad you can like whomever you want. But be careful with the Carmen Cambridge lass. Now I saw that you and ‘er ‘ad a back and forth on twitter about ‘ow she wants you ta beat me and all of that. Lad, it must be nice ta ‘ave a fan out there. ‘Aving someone behind you is always good but she is someone that I talk about with ‘ow she thinks everything should be ‘anded ta ‘er. Don’t fall into that trap lad keep that thought that you need ta work for everything because with that you will become something in this business. But sitting on twitter and whining about anything and everything will make you another sheep in the ‘erd.
Now, I will dish out everything I ‘ave at you lad don’t worry about that. I’m not going to give up in this match I will fight tooth and nail with you. The better man will win and maybe you will win and if you do I will shake your ‘and because that is who I am. If you are the better man I will admit it, and lad with your mind the way it is you will be someone that will fight, someone that will prove ‘imself again and again.
He smiles and shakes his head as he walks off.

::The scene opens with a big thudding noise, few moments later a sledgehammer comes flying in the camera's direction but slams down on a tractor tire, giving off that thudding noise. Swinging the large sledgehammer is Jacob Daniels. He stops swinging the hammer and holds it next to himself.::
"Strength training and core building. I'm using it to make myself bigger, faster and stronger. You see I have been given the monicker of being a young lion because my hunger to be the best and to train the hardest makes me never satisfied and hungry for more. You know Faolan something you brought up when you spoke hasn't quite sat well with me. It's when you brought up my mom. Now, let me explain why it didn't sit well with me... It wasn't because you brought her up its how you brought her up. I'm not out here to prove that I belong or that I'm worth anything. The day I moved from her to my uncles was the single greatest day of my life. It introduced me to wrestling and that developed into the respect and love I have for this sport."
"But I will admit that being with my mom did give me some spiritual strength training and core building in me. To where I learned from her how to never treat a person and how that despite what peaks and valleys life gives you... Unless you stand for something you aren't worth anything. And if you think you know me as well as your claiming Faolan, you'll know my friendship with Carmen won't change my values or my morals. You can have friends in this sport that don't exactly see things you, yourself do. And while she maybe cheering for me to beat you, that doesn't mean I'm give up what got me this far or give up something that I have used as a building block for my entire life. Maybe that's something you need to have set in your head because when I win or when I lose, it will be with honor."
"I would suggest to you though Faolan, stop letting Carmen get into your head. You should be focused on this match and not what she's saying on Twitter. Not to sound like a jerk but maybe if you didn't focus as much on Twitter you could be Television Champion right now. Look I know that's part of her strategy is to throw you off your game and fall into the Twitter back and forth but she's not even in this match Faolan... And you still let her suck you in and do exactly what she wanted an put her name involved in this match. You see that don't you? She has you twisted around focusing on things you shouldn't be focused on. And to comment on what you said earlier. Yes, it would be my honor after our match to shake hands... It's the best way to show respect in this sport."

Faolan Reid is seated with his hands clasped together. As he spoke he was laser focused into what he wanted to say.
Maybe you are right lad. Maybe I have allowed that little nat of a person Carmen Cambridge ta get into my ‘ead. It is a problem that I ‘ave ta fix. You see she wants to try and pick at me because I ‘aven’t been able ta beat her yet. Making ‘er think that she is better than me. Deep down maybe she is lad because she outlasted me in that match and all of that but that is not for now. I ‘ace you ta worry about lad don’t I?
Now, I can see that young lion attitude that you ‘ave. It is an attitude that you want to ‘ave in this business. I ‘ave that feeling as well lad. You see lad I want ta be a lion as well and I feel that I can lad. What I ‘ave ta do lad is get back to where I was. Everyone says that but I stand firm on that not long ago I was a champion in this company. I was someone people looked at and feared. But now after a couple of losses I’m not where I was. That is a ‘ard thing to take lad. You ‘aven’t been there but sometime down the road you will be lad.
That isn’t a dig on you lad now if you take it like that I’m sorry. The truth of the matter is at some point in this business you will ‘ave a moment where you look at yourself and wonder what you need ta do ta get better. That is where I am, and like I ‘ave said maybe I peeked too quickly. I saw the glory already but I guess that is what also makes me a lion lad. It makes me want ta eat more, it makes me want ta grab more glory by the throat and ‘old it ‘igh in the sky.
It starts with you lad. It starts when I get you in that ring and see you up and close. I know you are good and I ‘ave said that before. You ‘ave ‘ad good matches ‘ere people are talking about you. People are putting tabs on you talking about ‘ow you will ‘old a title sooner rather than later. That is what is the good thing about you lad you have worked ‘ard and no one is denying that. I will never deny that lad because I can’t I ‘ave seen you wrestle. I ‘ave seen you fight and I know that when you and I get in that ring we will be like two titans clashing. One of us will win and one of us will lose and like you said lad no matter what I will shake your ‘and.
He smiled as he got up and cracked his neck.

::As the scene opens, Jacob Daniels is packing up some of his clothes and gear into a gym bag.::
"Just getting a few things out of the way before I fly out to Chicago for REDEFINE25. I am going to get out there a day or so before the show and go around my old stomping grounds a bit. I'm also supposed to meet up with this lady who is kind of super. But back to getting things out of the way..."
::He reaches over and zips shut his gym bag.::
"So Faolan, you mentioned how at some point in this, well I like to call it a sport, that their will be a moment where you look at yourself and wonder what you need to do to get better. I have to laugh that after having a losing streak of what? Three matches? That you need to have that conversation with yourself. Me? Sure, I've that that conversation... When I blew out my knee and was left with a big ass scar and unable to do the one thing I loved. That's when I had that conversation, that's when I figured that I wouldn't ever wrestle again. So sorry if it sounds like a dig at you but three matches is barely a time to start wondering if your best is good enough."
"Hell man, you won a championship here. You are forever in the REDEFINE record books as one of their champions. All this is Faolan is a get back on the horse moment for you. I had my knee shredded up, my career in jeopardy and here I am... The man that's looking to be just that little bit better than you at REDEFINE25. You? You are the guy questioning himself over a few tough losses against quality opponents. Sorry if it doesn't seem that I'm taking your quest to find yourself again all that seriously."
"This sport many people think that being at the absolute top physical condition is going to take you above and beyond, blowing past anyone in your way. But honestly what's missed is that you will run into the one guy who won't be as fast, won't be as strong and won't be as agile but it won't matter. Anyone can pile on the physical muscle but nothing beats having the mental muscle."
::Jacob points and lightly taps at his temple.::
"Now, I'm not claiming to be the smartest guy out there but growing up in the sport and being around it as much as I have. Learning from some of the best to step foot in the ring, I have more than enough knowledge for a competitor of my age. And trust me Faolan, I am going to use not only my brawl and physical talents against you but as well as my mental intellect. Whether you see yourself as it or not, you're a dangerous opponent and I'll need everything I have against you."
::Jacob smiles as the scene fades.::

Faloan Reid is outside of his Chicago home as he speaks.
Well Jacob ‘ere we are a few days away from our match. It is a nice little tidbit of yours that you are coming ‘ome for this match. As I ‘ave said before I went ‘ome during our European tour and I was not what I wanted ta be. Now you are coming ‘ome and I want ta stop your run.
Jacob, when you question ‘ow I’m feeling it actually makes me wonder where I am. Or I can say who I am I want ta be back where I was. You see I ‘ave been a champion before and I want ta do that again but I can’t keep doing that if I lose matches left and right. Of course when I won the TV Title maybe I thought it would have been a little bit easier then what it is. When I won that title I thought Redefine would be my oyster and I could take it over. After I ‘ave lost that title I ‘ave started to question myself. I started ta see that I need ta get better and that will start with you.
Like I 'ave said over and over again Jacob I know you are good. It’s that easy, you are good because you ‘ave been able ta back it up. Winning matches and making people talk about you that is where I was last month. I was on top and I was making everyone look at me. Maybe they are still looking at me seeing ‘ow I will bounce back when my back is up against the wall. I know it doesn’t make me look good wondering where my career will be going after losing match after match. Whereas people like you Jacob ‘ave been ‘urt. I guess that is where I am going now lad saying that you’ll be a tough opponent. You’ve been on the outside wondering what your career will be when you get back from an injury. It shows me ‘ow tough you actually are, it would ‘ave been easy for you ta leave the business after ‘aving your knee blown out. You could ‘ave wen and done something else but you worked your arse off to get back ‘ere and ‘ere you are fighting in Redefine and making a name for yourself.
This match will be tough that is what is expected now in this company. We ‘ave a lot of stars people that will one day shine very brightly and as I look at it Jacob you and I can be the two brightest stars in the sky that is Redefine. All I ask is for you ta make this match as good as it can be lad. Fight, and go all out because that is what I will do. Like you said I am a tough competitor, which I'll prove.
He smiles as he gets up and walks outside.

::The scene opens with Jacob Daniels, bundled up in a black hoodie and Carhartt work jacket. The cold Chicago winds whip around him as he stands at the loading dock of the arena.::
"You know I watched your second to last promo once more Faolan and something stood out to me. First you tell me that you want to be a lion like me and that getting back to your winning ways would help you get there. But in just the next breathe, you say how you are a lion because you see you may have peaked too quickly, that you had a taste of that mountain top and you want it even more now that you don't have it. How can you even begin to try to focus on this match man? You have Carmen on your mind, whether or not you have the talent on your mind and whether or not you are a hungry lion or not on your mind. For me? I have never gotten the feel for gold here, I couldn't begin to say I want that feeling because I've never had it. But I see you, Carmen and countless others who have held gold here and I see the lengths that it is driving all of you to get it again and damn... If that doesn't up my drive."
"Don't get me wrong, a win of any kind, championship or not, is nothing but hollow and empty without doing it with honor. So as much as I want it, I'm going to get it the right way. Sure some will say then that I don't want it enough if I'm not willing to go beyond the rules. I guess I'd just rather have meaning and worth to my wins rather than empty shells. Of course I'm not saying any of your wins are empty, Faolan, so far you have been a class act. But the more you seem to question yourself, the more you put that emphasis on needing this win and the more you seem to be having a make or break moment... Well I have seen it before."
"I just hope that you Faolan have more integrity than those I have faced in the past, hell, more than some I have teamed with in the past. They let their greed or weak will allow themselves to take the easier path. Where lying and cheating lead to stealing a victory that makes them feel good and back on track but are they really? Are they onto their winning ways when it took going outside the rules to get there? I hope you don't succumb to that temptation, lad."
::Jacob gives a smirk to the camera.::
"Now if you excuse me, I am going to get a late breakfast with a very lovely lady and then dinner tonight with two other lovely ladies. But don't worry Faolan... I'll save a dance for you."
::He turns and then enters the arena as the scene fades.::

These will be my last words about this match. A match that I ‘ave been working ‘ard for.
Faolan Reid smiles as he starts walking down to the ring that had just been set up. He steps into the ring and sits in the middle of it.
I ‘ave ‘eard the last words that Jacob ‘as said and it ‘it ‘ome a little bit. ‘E talked about taking the easy way out in matches and I ‘ave ta sit ‘ere and tell you that I’m not about the easy way out. I will work ‘ard for a victory I won’t try and take ‘im out and lay him lying on the outside of the ring. I will fight ‘im in the middle of this ring and that is where I will beat ‘im. A victory needs ta be earned it doesn’t need ta be given ta you.
That is why I respect the hell out of Jacob. ‘E says that right things ‘e acts the right way. A lot of people in this business ‘ave become people that think everything should be ‘anded ta them. Jacob is different ‘e gets it, ‘e gets that you ‘ave to work ‘ard ta get wins. That is why I cannot wait for this match because the both of us will be fighting ‘ard for this match. We both know what is at the end one of us could win this match and we might ‘ave earned a shot at the TV title. I see that title like I ‘ave said and I want it back so I ‘ave to crawl and scratch to get it back and well Jacob is in the way of that. So I ‘ave to beat ‘im.
He nods his head as he gets up from the middle of the ring and walks around.
‘E questions why I ‘ave said that I need this match. I will answer that easily.
I need this match so I can get my mind back in the game. Of course ‘e will talk about ‘ow Carmen is in my ‘ead and all of that. He cannot be farther from the truth, I need ta win because I need ta prove ta people that I wasn’t a flash in the pan. That winning the TV title so quickly was just the start for me. That was one thing of glory that I ‘ad now I need another shot at glory. ‘E can claim that I might ‘ave started ta lose it and that I am questioning myself. But I’m not it is just that I am seeing that people are getting better and better in this company and I ‘ave to step up my game. It is ‘ard to realize that but it is the truth, so I will go out in this match with Jacob and I will fight ‘im until the end.
May the best man win.
He winks and steps out of the ring.
