Post by Drew Stevenson on Dec 13, 2015 20:06:31 GMT
Looking out the window in his very expensive mansion, large snowflakes are falling from the sky and hitting the ground as Stevenson never looks at the camera but knows that it is recording.
"December 25th, Christmas Day and might I say Jordan, this Christmas is really looking up - well for me anyways, not for you!"
Finally turning his attention towards the camera, he looks very calm, composed and confident.
"I mean, just think about it for a moment Jordan. We are ushering in yet a new year, things are changing around here and as of December 26th? The United Center in Chicago Illinois is going to be left speechless as I take what rightfully belongs to me and that is the Redefine Championship.
Yes I know, it doesn't "rightfully" belong to me as you will tell the whole world but what you don't realize Jordan is that it was mine the very moment that I signed my contract to compete here, you are simply lucky enough to have been the man holding it for me until I received my opportunity at it."
Smiling very arrogantly, he continues to speak.
"And yes, I am aware of the fact that myself and Carmen included "lost" the tag match but even you know that wasn't a clear-cut victory that you are better than I am.
Since I know that will be a topic of discussion, tell me and everybody else what happened Jordan? Oh yeah, we know that everybody saw what happened but I want to hear your side of the story because it seems that people are blind as to what really happened on that night."
With yet another smile running along his face, it was clear just how much of a smart ass that he was being but to be fair; he was also being honest.
"But what really matters Jordan is that both you and I know the truth. You know just how dominating that I have been since I stepped foot into this company and deep down? You know damn well that I am going to continue running through this company.
So where does that leave you? That's a wonderful question to be asking yourself Jordan because after I rip that championship away from you? I won't be as cruel as everybody thinks I am, no, as a matter of fact - I will be generous enough to throw you my table scraps since that is all you will be getting once I'm sitting at the top of the mountain."
Turning away from the window, he straightens the jacket of his suit and clasps his hands together.
"But you know something Jordan, the term archetype definitely fits you because after I'm finished with you? Everybody will forever recognize you as the transitional champion and I do believe that's a very fitting archetype for you, don't you?"
With that very arrogant smile on his face, the scene slowly fades out.

Drew, Drew, Drew, is this how we are going to start off? With you ignoring the obvious outcome of our match, with us winning. Sure there may have not been any dominating showings of speed or there may not have been any outstanding acts of power, but more than anything got the job done. DBV took to that ring and we beat you and Carmen, that's all anybody will remember. When people look back in the history bookstore won't see anything else except "DBV def. Stevenson and Cambridge." And you can talk about how I "know" how dominating you are "running through this company." Come on man, the only thing you're running through are the DM's of women 20 years younger than you.
To my philosophy, knowing about your domination and your overconfidence is a large advantage to me, knowing who you are, knowing what your goals in this company are can only help me prepare towards our match. You talk about how Caliban gives too much away, but you saying you're going to "run through the company" gives a lot more than you would think.
Perhaps I am lucky to be holding this title, I know I am. Lucky enough to have this title, lucky enough to have had the opportunity to fight my way up the ranks learning what it means to be a champion before finally grasping the gold. I didn't cut through the line because of a piece of paper, I took the time to face the challengers; the Declan Black's, the Johnny Ajax's, the Sasha Foote's, so that when I did win the championship I would be prepared to take care of people like you who think they deserve it because of a contract.
You want to call me the archetype of a transition champion too? Fair enough, I guess that's better than the archetype of vanity. Meaning that YOU think YOU are "still better than YOU" better than anyone that you may face simply because YOU are yourself. YOU think that this title belongs to YOU because YOU have the corrupted mind to think nobody can take you down. If nothing else that tag match showed you could be brought down, showed that your arrogance is your weakness.
I know you think you can back it up too, through your dominance in all of what... five matches? Two of which you didn't win? If you are going to talk a big game, you have to prove it. I've shown time in and time out, including against you, that I don't need to be cocky, I let my ability talk.
Call me the archetype of a transition champion, the thing is I'm a champion. You on the other hand will go down with no gold, living up to your personality. You can talk about domination over me, and the company, I know your goals. But when you can't even beat Carmen, and you can't beat DBV because of being a narcissist, I don't see it.

"Let's get one thing crystal clear Jordan, you don't know my weakness and do you know why that is; because I don't have one, that's why!"
With a large smile stretched along his face, Stevenson looks down and straightens his tie.
"Do you honestly believe that knocking my arrogance and saying that I have a lot of DM's to go through from younger women makes me look bad?
Come on Jordan, I really thought you were better than that but I guess I can't put a lot of emphasis on you, now can I? I want you to sit back, really think about what you said and then come back to me with a clear conscience because any Tom, Dick or Harry can see the truth so why can't you?"
He pauses.
"Oh that's right, because you still have this belief that you can actually beat me, isn't that right? Let's not get things twisted Jordan, what you are is exactly what I told the world, a transitional champion and yes; you are very lucky to be holding that championship because here very soon - I am going to be prying it out of your cold dead fingers and there is no stopping me, no matter how hard you try."
Nothing but a smile.
"Now Jordan, you know as well as I do that you guys proved absolutely nothing in that tag match because I have yet to be pinned or submitted in this company and let me tell you, it's not going to happen anytime soon.
Sure, you can run through the laundry list of people that you've beaten and you can even try to discredit all of those who I have already beaten but you know as well as I do that it falls upon deaf ears. Ask yourself, if I haven't beaten so many already then would I really be going for the richest prize in this business?"
Shaking his head, he taps his temple with his index finger.
"Of course not and that's perfectly fine Jordan, you're grasping for any straws that you can reach because you are a man who is desperate. Here you are, in your very first title defense as the Redefine Champion and you know that it's only a matter of time before it all gets ripped away from you.
So you see Jordan, this isn't about me not beating Carmen because let's face it, she didn't beat me either. As a matter of fact, doesn't the record books actually state that she has a win over you? Maybe I'm wrong, but the record books definitely don't state that she has a win over me so why do you keep trashing her?
It doesn't matter Jordan but what does matter is that on December 26th? Everything you fought for, every bit of sacrifice that you have given for that championship? I'm going to take it away and I'm not going to bat an eyelash doing it, remember that!"
With a smile, we fade.

Calling me desperate, grasping on to every last straw to win this match. Coming from the man who called DBV "ambiguously gay" as an insult because he knew he had no shot at winning a match. I can't take you seriously when you say I'm reaching for something over you.
Like I'm reaching when I mention that you couldn't beat someone I did. Whether you forced a draw or lost the match that still means that you didn't win mate. If you don't win, you don't win, simple stuff. If not being pinned or submitted means more than winning or losing in this business, lets say that you just walked out of a match and got counted out. It's not a pin or submission is it so why would losing a match matter to you?
Fact is you're too worried about being taken down by someone you deem "unworthy" of your presence, you'd rather draw someone when you're close to losing than take a risk and see it pay off. You're ego is in the way of your ability, there''s your weakness, the only reason you can't see it is because you're just choosing not to.
Also Carmen does have a win over me, but I also have many wins over her more recently than not. You know why? Because I learned my opponent and took her down, I didn't see her as lesser I saw her as equal if not greater and I won against her because of it.
See, that's what I do, I learn. I watch the things that my opponent does right, and what they do wrong, after that I avoid what they do right and exploit that weakness. Of course in your case "there is no weakness" so why should I even bother? Why should I fight you at all? Why should I want to get pinned or submitted, champions advantage after all... It's because I just don't think I can beat you, it's because I know I can.
You want to know why I gave that resume of opponents I've beaten? To give you a slight history lesson of what you're going up against. You think of me as a tag wrestler who got lucky for three seconds, I'm showing you that I am more of a challenge than you ever could think. I think you know that though.
During that tag match you knew you were in deep shit against me, pushing me back to desperately tag into Carmen. I think something clicked at that moment, "he doesn't think I'm better" so to compensate you did a quick tag and hit me with your "Final Conflict" so that I couldn't get up with the refs back turned. Compensation because for once in you life someone believes they can beat you, so you ended up grasping for anything over me.
You keep telling yourself lies about a lack of weakness, but I saw plenty of it. Your Final Conflict, just opened a new one.

"Do you know what I like about you Jordan? You are so focused as to what I did that you aren't going to see what I am going to do."
Sitting outside, Stevenson is enjoying this beautiful day.
"You can continue to beat the dead horse all you want Jordan, but at the end the day? The only thing people are going to talk about is how I, Drew Stevenson, took that Redefine Championship away from you."
Flashing that traditional Stevenson smile, arrogance was oozing out of every pore.
"I mean, honestly, do you really think that I am worried about you? Come on Jordan, we both know that I have absolutely no reason to be worried about you - sure, I admit that you are a good athlete and yes; you will be a challenge in that ring, I told everybody that on Twitter last night but me grasping for straws to beat you? I'm starting to think that I dropped you on your head just a little too hard."
Reaching into his pocket and pulling out a Cuban cigar, Stevenson lights it and enjoys the finer things in life.
"No you were right about one thing Jordan, I do deem you unworthy of beating me and that's because you are. You're good, there's no doubt about that but in order to beat me? You have to be something special, something great and when I look at you? I'm not so sure that I can really point my finger at you and say that you are great.
Yeah, I know, you are the Redefine Champion and by default? That makes you the best in the company, at least to the magazines and the critics anyway but is that the honest to God truth? Can you really tell the world that you can beat absolutely anybody in this company right now? No, I don't think that you can and that's because you know deep down that you are ONE of the best but that you are not the best, that right belongs to me and to answer your question...
... Yes, until somebody in this company actually pins or submits me? I do believe and wholeheartedly at that that I am undefeated because nobody has proven to be better than me. Now since we are talking about wins here Jordan, let's not forget that I hold victories over Death by Velocity so if I can do it once, then needless to say, I can damn sure do it again and I'm going to at End Game when I show the world this is the end of the road for you as the Redefine Champion.
But think of it this way Jordan, you can tell everybody that you lost to the best that this company has to offer and thankfully for you? Nobody will judge you, they will understand as to why you lost because they knew from the start that you never stood a chance anyway."
Fade!

Drew, I'm focusing on what you're going to do through the things that you did. People make patterns, they make habits through the things they did in the past that translates to their attitudes and actions in the future... what you did then will tell me what you'll do now. And before you start calling this pattern stuff bullshit because you can't comprehend that yourself, look at what you've been saying.
"I'm the greatest", "You can't beat me", "I'm the best." No proof is given you're just expecting me to take your word for it and lie down on my back. You have taken the position of Donald Trump and I guess that makes me "FactCheck.com" You mention me beating a dead horse, you're beating up its grave and lighting it on fire.
You talk about how you have a win against Death By Velocity, but then complain if I say I have a win over you because of a tag match. Well you never pinned me in that SINGLES match against Caliban did you? So you have no wins against me. Therefore your statement is invalid. Now my beating of that dead horse I see as a bit better, because I faced you, wrestled you, and beat your team... that had you on it... in a match that had you in it.
I mean you comparing DBV like we are both the same people and then say how I focus too much on the past is just hypocrisy. YOU did those actions so it's fair if I want to look at those to prepare for my opponent better, because I prepare. You're comparing two different people; different training, different genes for Christ's sake and you're acting like we're the same person.
I laugh at that because when you get beaten by me, when your head gets screwed on by getting knocked off, you'll know the difference and learn that you need to prepare. Where I prepare for our match through training and watching, you choose to smoke cigars and rely on myself having a lack of confidence, both of those won't help
You at least admitted that I'm good, I'm happy you know that, but your perception of "best" is what's wrong. You think you're the best because you haven't been pinned in five matches, haven't won all of them, just haven't been pinned. Best? Or is the best someone who has gotten beaten down and has gotten back up so that he knows how to fight. So that after years of work he can stand at the top and say he is the best because he has proven it. Not in 5 matches, but in a career. You decide.
Drew, keep laughing to yourself, keep believing that you are unstoppable, everyone knows its not true. You can compensate all you want for that now, but when we're in the ring you won't be able to talk your way out of that one because the best will win.

"You don't understand what sarcasm is all about, do you?"
Nodding his head, he can tell that Jordan doesn't quite grasp that concept just yet.
"See Jordan, since you can't seem to grasp the picture that I was painting, I know that you and Caliban aren't the same person - the point that I was trying to make is that he acted just like you when I was facing him and the outcome was that I walked out as the winner against him and whether you like it or not; I'm going to be walking out as the new Redefine Champion.
Now yes, I'm going to stick by my original statement that you haven't proven to be better than I am. Sure, according to the record books? You have a victory over me but that doesn't prove that you are better than me because you couldn't put me down for the three count and even Ray Charles can see that."
Leaving the scene for a moment, he returns holding a replica of the Redefine Championship.
"But you know what Jordan, we have traded insults all week long and quite frankly? I'm tired of dealing with you because you just don't get it.
At the end of the day? This is what we are fighting for, the richest prize in our business today, the Redefine Championship!"
Looking at the face plate of the title, it looks like it belongs to him, like it's natural.
"Now do you honestly think this is my first rodeo in this business? Come on Jordan, even you have to know that I have been in far more than five matches throughout my whole career.
Yeah, I have been knocked down and I have gotten up more times than you will ever see in this business and that is just one of the reasons why I am the best. You don't have to agree with that, that's perfectly fine but I'm going to prove it December 26th when I put you down and claim what belongs to me, this right hereā¦"
Running his hand along the faceplate, he was ready to become the champion.
"... The Redefine Championship!"
He pauses.
"From one man to another Jordan, don't worry, I have been training but I don't feel the need to broadcast it like every other person. If you think that I have only been sitting around and smoking cigars then you haven't been paying attention because I am focused Jordan.
I haven't been this ready in a very long time and when that bell sounds? You and me? We are going to put on a Broadway, something that leaves the people speechless but unfortunately for you; I am walking out as the new champion and I am going to take this company to heights that you never could.
So like it, don't like it, I really don't care because that title belongs to me and I am taking what's mine!"
With a sadistic smile, we fade.

Comparing me to another person isn't sarcasm, that's parallelism so you don't understand the grammar, but that's not what I'm going to focus on. I'm here to focus on the gold, the Redefine World Championship.
Now that I've waken Drew up to actually talking about the match and not just how he claims he's better than me I feel I know him even better than I did before now. Now I know he's not just smoking cigars and laughing, of course that was obvious from the beginning its just the confirmation is nice... Now I know that his first five matches in Redefine weren't his first five matches of all time, again obvious from the get go but confirmation of these things isn't a bad thing.
What still is a bad thing though, how he still has the notion that the Redefine Championship is his as of right now. Before we even fight, before we step into the ring once again he believes that my gold belongs to him.
Honestly I have no idea where he is getting this notion from. The guy who helped build the company along with Pariah and Caliban is less deserving of the title than the guy who just came here. Does he feel he deserves it because he was asked to join Redefine? Does he feel this way because he has been superkicked one too many times? That's something that I could use some confirmation on and sadly I won't get it.
The confirmation I will get at "End Game" is that this title not only is mine, but it deserves to be mine. At Redefine Endgame when I have to face Drew I know it'll be a challenge, but it's nothing that I can't overcome. Like I said I've overcome many challenges, from a pure tag wrestler to the leading singles champion and for Drew to think that I still have no chance is just ignorant and he knows it.
He talks like I'm nothing, saying that I am only "good" I'm one of the best, and I'm ready to prove that against him. When he comes at me, slowly, deliberately, I know he's just going to plan to get in my mind and try to control the pace. I'm not going to let him do any controlling in this match, I know I am in better condition while having momentum I couldn't even have dreamed about a few months ago... and that momentum only grows at End Game when I beat Drew and keep MY Redefine championship.
Drew, this match we will be in "Broadway" all the lights on us, thousands of people live and millions more at home watching our every step. I know that you and I will put on the match of the year, just in time, but at the end of that match when we're both bloody and beaten only one man can be champion... that man is the best, that man is Jordan Ciserano. Best of Luck.

"If you want confirmation that you are going to walk out as the Redefine Champion then let me tell you something, you were put up against the wrong man."
Sitting in the United Center, Stevenson was surrounded by empty seats.
"The reason why I say the things I do Jordan is because I know just how good I am in that ring. I have been the best in this industry thirty three times over, soon to be thirty four and unfortunately for you Jordan? It will be at your expense, it will be through your blood that I take my seat on the throne."
Rubbing his chin, he simply smiles.
"Confirmation is something that you won't find here Jordan, however, the one thing that I will give you is that you will get an award for match of the year, that much I can guarantee.
Let's talk about defying those odds Jordan because honestly? No matter how many times you keep telling yourself it's going to happen, it's not going to and that's because you are facing a man who you have never faced before.
When that bell sounds and you step up to me? You will look into my eyes Jordan and it will be then and there that you realize just what I'm about.
Whether you like it or not? The times are a changing around here Jordan, things are beginning to take a different turn - we are seeing this company grow and yeah, there's no doubt that you had a big hand in that but the one thing that I'm telling you is that you won't be the leader at the helm when that change comes."
He pauses.
"See Jordan, you like to talk about momentum, right? So what makes you think that you have more momentum then I do? In case you have obviously forgotten; it was me who painted the bigger picture of what is to come. What you fail to realize Jordan is that yeah, you and Caliban hold every single title in this company and even I can admit, that is impressive but whether you want to admit it or not?
You will be one title less after End Game!
You have a lot of momentum, there's no denying that but there's one person in this company who has more momentum than you right now and do you know who that is Jordan?
That's right Jordan, you're looking right at him. I do understand that you want nothing more than to remain seated at the top of this mountain but that's simply something that I can't allow.
You want to talk about luck? I don't need luck and that's because while you are currently labeled as the champion; that all changes at End Game when you go from being the archetype of THE Redefine Champion to that of the former champion while I become the measuring stick around here, the archetype which is THE Champion and that you can take to the bank."
