ROOKIE VS LEGEND

Hey guys, Rommie here. Yeah, I did go totally blonde, haha. Supposed to match the stars is what I was told. So everyone has heard that I signed with Second City Wrestling. I decided it was time for a change in my life. Yes, the Toy Soldier wanted a fresh atmosphere in which to wrestle. This place is very relaxed, and i know I'll fit in here. Being a female wrestler in a male dominated sport, got to have that backbone.
Something Drew doesn't have.
Just because dude is champ in one company doesn't really mean he is all that entitled. I'm taking his place and boy the test I have May seventeenth is a classic case of rookie versus legend. Pat Gordon Jr. is a REAL man, and one that has held multiple title belts all over the world. I got to give dude props where it is earned, Pat has quite an impressive resume. I'm honored to face him, because I know that stepping in the ring means I have a very tough challenge ahead of me.
I'm used to facing tough challenges though.
I'm used to looking at an obstacle head on and saying 'screw you' while kicking the damn door down in the process. I am the chick that breaks barriers and defines reality one kick and hit at a time. Pat, I just wanted you to know that this won't be as easy as most think it will. I am bringing my all to the fight, I hope you do the same. Come time to step in that ring, I will be out to prove myself within the 2CW ranks, and that will be at the top. Future champion? Maybe.
Beating a legend like you in my first match? Priceless.
This is going to be a mat classic for sure, and can't wait to tear the house down with you Pat. Just know, this chick is walking away the victor. Nothing personal man, just business.
See you May 17th.

Chicago, Illinois. Pat Gordon, Jr. - clad in his “Pat Lock” t-shirt - has found an Arby’s (unofficial sponsor of PGJR, but they do follow him on twitter) to dine in. The Boston Bruiser sits in a booth next to the window, munching on his Beef and Cheddar sandwich and washing it down with a root beer. He stops and looks up from his food.
PGJR: “You know, tomorrow night I’m gonna be wrestling in Second City Wrestling against Rommie Sharpe. The people over at 2CW got me to sign on by telling me they could get me a match with Drew Stevenson, but apparently Stevenson thinks I’m ‘not good enough’ to face him. Needless to say, that pissed me off.”
Pat stops and takes a bite out of his sandwich. A rogue piece of roast beef flaps from his mouth as he chews until his finger pushes it into his mouth. A sip of root beer later, and he’s back to talking.
PGJR: “Now, I’m not trying to take this out on you, Rommie, because I appreciate the fact that you’re excited to face me. And it’s not just for the ego boost. I appreciate your passion for this sport. I appreciate the fact that you're brave enough to step into the ring with a former World Champion, and right when you just fought off an injury, to boot. I appreciate that you want to get in the ring and learn from people with more experience than you. And tomorrow night, if you keep your eyes open, you’ll learn a few lessons.
“The first thing you’ll learn is it’s never good to get in the ring with a Gordon when he’s pissed off, whether you’re the one who did it or not. Rommie, it’s not that I wanna hurt you, because I don’t. It’s not that you crossed me and gave me a reason to be super-malicious towards you. You seem like a good kid with a bright future. But we both know that this sport is malicious by nature. Two people go in that ring and what they do is hurt one another until one of them does enough to win it, and that’s what I’ll do, Rommie. I’ll do what it takes to win it.
“I know you’re just coming off an injury and believe me, the last thing I’d wanna do is put you right back on the injured reserve. The last thing I wanna do is keep you away from the pay window for weeks or months on end. I don’t wanna go there, but I’m willing to if that’s what it takes. And I know you’d do the same thing to me.
“I remember back around November or December of 2012, I had just gotten a concussion fighting against Kevin Hardaway, and I had to go up against Chris Q just two weeks later. He picked me up and dropped me straight on my noggin with his move, the Compactor. That night was over for me right then and there. But he beat me fair and square. I knew it. If I didn’t want to run that risk, I wouldn’t have gotten in the ring with a concussion. Luckily for me I didn’t get second concussion syndrome from it.
“So if I get the Pat Lock locked in, feel free to go ahead and tap out right then, right there. Don’t feel the need for heroics, because I really don’t wanna put you back on the injured list. And I really hate it when people say, ‘It’s not personal,’ because this sport is nothing but personal. Two people get in the ring and try to knock eachother’s teeth out. They try to rip eachother’s arms off. That’s as personal as you can get. It’s not that I have something personal against YOU, but this match is still VERY personal for me. See, I wanna send Drew Stevenson a message. I wanna send him the message that I CAN beat him, that Pat Gordon, Jr. IS a worthy opponent for him. You just have the misfortune of being the courier of that message, Rommie.
“So tomorrow night, Chicago, Illinois, you’re gonna have two options: Snap… Or tap!!!”
The Instant Legend wipes his mouth off with his napkin, getting a bit of cheese sauce that had been in the corner of his lip for the last couple of minutes. He picks up his tray and dumps the contents into the garbage before leaving the Arby’s.
